Jezerca is the highest mountain in Valbona Valley and it belongs to the Accursed Mountains and is the second highest peak in Albania after Korab 2764m. I am sure that I have written about this mountain but I wanted to share my experience climbing this mountain in winter conditions.
First of all if you want to climb a really challenging mountain in winter conditions, you have to consider that you need to have some equipment and gear with you. You need to have Crampons and Ice Axes in case of the trail is covered huge snow and ice, also you need to have a rope just in case if anything happens, hope not, and you should always find a preferable weather since it makes the climb much easier.
In order to reach this mountain in winter you need to wake up early in the morning before the sunrise, and head towards the top. This climb was organised by Kosovo Mountain Club and they did it superbly with no casualties at all, they even had spare crampons and ice axes for everyone and they did a wonderful job out there guiding us to the top and returning back to the valley successfully.
The surrounding peaks of the Valbona Valley National Park are unique mountains that every climber of the world should visit and climb once in their lifetime since they offer spectacular views. For those adrenaline junkies that like to feel the joy in their spirit I would suggest them to visit these mountains either by climbing them or skiing and many other activities.
